Berlin-based artist Monika Grzymala, celebrated for her site-specific works, created a large-scale installation at the Morgan Library & Museum this summer! This work titled Volumen is composed of thousands of sheets of handmade paper, some of them printed with images of autograph manuscripts from the museum’s collections, connected with bookbinding yarn and suspended from the ceiling. According to the artist, Volumen is a celebration of paper as the “pictorial carrier” used by artists, writers and composers to express creativity.
If you want to check this out for yourself, it is on display from July 19th to November 3rd at The Morgan Library & Museum (29 E 36th St New York, NY 10016)! We think this is a great way to escape the summer heat, find a good book and see an amazing piece of work.
Stay cool during this heat wave, friends!!
